About
Biography
Dr. Mark Covelle is the Administrative Director of Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT) in Jamison, Pennsylvania, where he leads a shared-time career technical center serving approximately 1,000 students annually across 21 career programs. His path to CTE was not a straight line. Classically trained as an educator, he spent years in traditional K–12 settings before stepping into a career technical center as an administrator. Three months in, he knew he would never leave. What he found was a sector doing something that the rest of education was still trying to figure out: connecting students to purpose, building real skills with real value, and preparing young people for futures they could actually see. He holds degrees from Boston College, Wilkes University, and Lehigh University, and earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management from Drexel University.
Dr. Covelle believes that career and technical education is the current leader in content and pedagogy across all of American education: not a track, not an alternative, but a model. He also believes that the phrase "college for all" carried an unintended and damaging message: trades for none. That mindset, he argues, is not sustainable, and the surging public interest in CTE reflects a cultural correction already underway. His work as a school leader is grounded in the conviction that leaders can deliberately design environments that maximize outcomes and that culture is not something that happens to an organization, it is something a leader builds. A Featured Speaker at FETC and a frequent provider of invited talks and conference presentations nationally, Dr. Covelle brings the lens of a classic educator and the vision of a workforce development leader to every stage he steps onto.
